Finding Time For Exercise

When you decide to make a dedicated effort to start exercising it can be hard to fit it in to our busy lifestyles. With a little planning and compromise, you can not only make time to start an exercise program, but also increase your chances of sticking with it.
Routine is the key. Try to create an exercise routine. This can be going to the gym or working out at home. If there is no time in your schedule for going to the gym then you can try waking up earlier to go for a walk. When you get comfortable with walking you can start jogging and then turn it into a run. This can be an invigorating, giving you energy for the rest of the day.
A common misconception is that exercise will some how involve lifting weights. While weight lifting does have many benefits, it does not have to your only form of exercise. It may be too intense for those just starting out. Try to keep in mind that you are trying to create a regular routine. Starting out too hard may discourage you from continuing. If you do decide to start lifting weights, it can be done at a gym or with home fitness equipment. The best being whatever fits into your schedule.
Some people start out their exercise routines great. They buy workout clothes, shoes and exercise gear. While this may help to motivate some, it doesn’t really matter. It may cause some to jump in head first and start their program to intensely. Keeping up with the demands of an intense workout can cause the begginner to burn out and give up.
A common mistake is choosing to exercise in the evening. Most people are completely exhausted and are just too tired to exercise. Many people also have to run errands or like to spend time with their family in the evenings.
Instead, try waking up earlier in the morning. Even if it just half an hour. Put your shoes on and go outside for a walk or run. There will be less traffic, crowds and pollution in the mornings. It can be a wonderful way to start your day. You will have more energy and be more relaxed throughout the day.
Of course you can also incorporate exercise throughout the day. Try taking the stairs and moving more at work. When you are home, turn of the television and do some work around the house.
Whatever form of exercise you choose just keep in mind that you are trying to create a routine part of your life. You want to make it fit into your schedule. Start slow, plan well and stick with it,
