Do you want to use home fitness equipment or join a gym? These are all questions you should ask yourself before you start a regular exercise routine. Let’s examine

It is very important to choose a fitness activity that you like to do. Your goal is to stick with the program, so you should not choose activities that you dread. For example, if you don’t like to run, you will not want to get yourself out of bed early in the morning to go for a jog. to you walking routine if you have a partner to help encourage you. Plus it helps to make the time go by faster.

It doesn’t matter what type of exercise you choose, but you should always start off slowly and comfortably and work up your exercise intensity over a period of several weeks. This helps you to keep from getting
discouraged and stick with your program. It also helps to prevent injuries which would be another set back.

If you have never exercised before, a way to start is by walking ten minutes a day. Gradually you can increase the time by five minutes every two weeks. If ten minutes is too difficult then start at five. The important thing is that you do not give up. To keep things interesting, try walking different paths ever few days.

Of course, if you don’t care for walking there are many other options. You can check out a local fitness center. These will have a wide variety of classes at all fitness levels. They also have trainers available to help
you get started or answer any of your questions. The important thing about choosing a fitness center is their customer service.

They should treat you with respect and cater too your needs after you join. You may need encouragement in the beginning and a bad experience at the gym can be very discouraging. Another thing to look for in a gym is that the equipment is in good condition and up to date.

If none of these choices sound very interesting to you or you think exercise is boring, there are still many options. You can try sports like golf or tennis (leave the cart and walk) or tennis. Both are great exercise without seeming like a fitness program. Tennis may be to intense for the beginner, but golf is great for anyone.
In the end, it doesn’t matter what kind of exercise you choose. The important thing is that you get out of the house and get moving.
